A Sweet Thank-You to the Heart of The Denver Hospice

At The Denver Hospice, we know that exceptional hospice care begins with exceptional people.

Every day, our employees bring compassion, expertise, patience, and heart to their work. They care for patients, support families, comfort loved ones, coordinate services, provide essential administrative support, and do countless things behind the scenes that make our mission possible.

So on Friday afternoon, we took a little time to celebrate them.

The Denver Hospice hosted an ice cream social featuring delicious treats from Rocket Ice Cream in Lowry. Some of our employees were able to step away from their work for a few minutes and enjoy ice cream together at Rocket Ice Cream.

But we also know that hospice care doesn't pause for an ice cream social.

For the employees who were still on shift, caring for patients and supporting families, we brought the ice cream back to them. Rocket Ice Cream is conveniently located close to both our administrative offices and our Inpatient Care Center, making it possible to share the celebration with team members who couldn't step away.

It may have been a simple gesture, but it reflected something important about our team: the people who spend their days caring for others deserve to be cared for and celebrated, too.

Our employees show up every day for patients and families — often during moments that are incredibly difficult, tender, and meaningful. Their work requires not only knowledge and skill, but also extraordinary compassion and dedication.

Whether they are at a patient's bedside, answering a family's questions, coordinating care, supporting our clinical teams, maintaining our facilities, or handling the many responsibilities that keep The Denver Hospice moving forward, each person contributes to our shared mission.

We are grateful for every one of them.

Friday's ice cream social was a small way of saying something that deserves to be said often:

Thank you for your dedication.

Thank you for your compassion.

Thank you for showing up, day after day.

And thank you for making a difference in the lives of the patients and families we are privileged to serve.

We are proud of our team — and very grateful for all that they do.
