The Denver Hospice

For over three decades, more than 60,000 patients and their family members have turned to us for care and comfort during difficult times.
As Colorado’s leader in hospice and palliative care we are committed to caring for everyone who comes through our door wherever they call home.
The Denver Hospice cares for the elderly at the end of their long, rich lives, those struck far too young by advanced illness, offers comfort to those who choose to battle their life-limiting illness, offers comfort and grief counseling to families and friends.

Special Focus

Children's Grief Group

April 12, 19, 26, May 3

A four week long group designed to help support families dealing with the issues that come along with losing someone you love. Intended to be a group process for children to identify and express complex feelings related to grief. Conversation and art will be used in sessions. Our hope is to help children find support within other children who may be feeling similarly. The group will reach kids from 8-12 years of age. While the children meet, there will be an adjacent parent support group providing a forum for adults to share their concerns, struggles, and how to help support their children during this time.

For more information or to register for this group, please contact Carlie Wagner at 303-398-6228.
Suggested fee: $60 (scholarships available)

Yoga Grief Support Group

 Mar 21, 28, Apr 4, 11, 18, 25, May 2, 9

Yoga for Grief is an 8 week series that incorporates physical movement, breath work, and mediation for individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Most people know that grief is a painful emotional state, yet many people are surprised to discover how physically demanding grief can be. In this group we will use our bodies to lovingly probe into the depths of our grief in order to explore our pain, not run from it, with the aim to emerge more whole and free. This series is designed to be accessible to all bodies, and most exercise can be done while seated on a mat or in a chair. The series is led by Lauren Cooper who holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Education and is a certified yoga instructor. Lauren is intimately familiar with grief and loss. She draws upon her personal experience of grief to bring transformation in herself and in the community.
Registration is required.
For more information, or to register please contact Lauren Cooper at 720-231-7519,

Fee: $100 for the entire 8 week series
