The Education Department at The Denver Hospice has a variety of roles and responsibilities to ensure that all our staff is trained properly before going out into the field. Both clinical and non-clinical staff will attend employee on boarding sessions, referred to as Base Camp. You will receive more information on continuing your education once you have joined our staff.

Who They Are
Informatics Educator - provides planning, coordination and facilitation of educational programs as they pertain to technology. This involves providing computer, software/program training, and support to staff.
Clinical Educator - provides education, training, and consultation as it pertains to advanced pain management and collaborates with IDT and TDH policies.
Education Coordinator - provides oversight and collection of employee education, competency, and compliance tracking and reporting.
Resource Nurses - provide planning, coordination, and facilitation of educational programs as they pertain to patient care. This involves providing education, training, and support to clinical staff around nursing practices and procedures.
Orientation and Training
Orientating New Employees
Base Camp is the foundation for employee orientation. During the first month of employment you will attend on-site education with other new employees. Everything from working with technology to best practices are outlined in this required orientation.
The Denver Hospice is committed to protecting the confidentiality of our patients' health information. HIPAA & Compliance are thoroughly covered as to protect our patients and our employees. Continuing Education & Training
Once onboard, employees will have a number of incentives and opportunities available to them to attend seminars and training sessions. Any education or training associated with or beneficial to the execution of your job duties. Annual requirements are based solely on an employees hours worked.
