Our In-Patient Care Center is not a hospital that provides cures, nor a facility that focuses on rehabilitation. But it is a place patients and families can turn to when symptoms are difficult to manage, the caregiver feels overwhelmed or when the patient is near death and seeks a place away from home to die in peace and with dignity.
The Care Center and its trained staff provides short-term care in a home-like setting in the most difficult times. The Care Center offers private and semi-private rooms, walkout patios and gardens, family areas and a dining area. Pets and children are welcome.
Our center provides comprehensive physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support and is licensed as a hospice and certified as a skilled nursing facility by Medicare and Medicaid.
Services include:
- Specialized pain control and symptoms’ management 24-hours a day by skilled, compassionate professionals including nurses, grief counselors, social workers, chaplains, certified nursing assistants, a dietician and trained volunteers
- General inpatient care (acute hospice care)
- Short-term placement for individuals until pain and other symptoms are under control
- Appropriate medications, medical supplies and equipment
- Special menus sensitive to cultural and dietary needs
- Activities geared toward end-of-life issues and patient comfort
- 24-hour visitation by family, friends and pets
- Complementary therapy programs including music, journaling, aromatherapy and horticultural therapy
- Grief counseling and support services for patients and families
